Description

This PIC development board, featuring a DIP socket, is ideal for both programming PIC microcontrollers and testing PIC-based projects. It comes equipped with an on-board PIC16F877A MCU, a bridge rectifier allowing compatibility with AC and DC power supplies, a 5V power supply circuit, a DB9 RS232 port for serial communication, a power status LED (red), a reset switch, a user input switch, a user LED (green) for output, and port extensions for all 5 ports. The board also includes an ICSP header for easy programming using PICKIT-2 or PICKIT-3 programmers. Notable features encompass a recommended input voltage of 9–12V, a 5 mm standard DC plug-in jack, an on-board 5V regulator (LM7805), a power status LED, a 20MHz crystal, a MAX232 interface circuit for communication with a computer and other serial devices, and 12V, 5V, and GND buses for external peripherals. The board is built on a high-quality FR-4 (1.6 mm) PCB with four 3mm mounting holes for easy installation.
