Description

The CJMCU MCP4725 I2C DAC Breakout Development Board Module is a compact and cost-efficient solution for digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) applications, featuring a 2-bit resolution and supporting a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V.

It utilizes the I2C interface with standard, fast, and high-speed modes for accessible communication with microcontrollers like Arduino. It includes onboard pins for SCL, SDA, VCC, and GND, allowing convenient I2C interfacing. The module also offers power-down modes to minimize power consumption when the DAC output is not in use, contributing to energy efficiency in battery-operated systems.

A 12-bit resolution allows it to produce 4096 discrete voltage levels for fine-grained analog output, while the built-in EEPROM ensures settings are saved during power cycles, enhancing convenience and reliability. With its true analog output capability, this module is ideal for sound generation, musical instruments, and various creative projects, making it a valuable addition to microcontroller-based systems.

  • OUT – DAC analog output
  • GND – Ground point for analog output.  It is common with the MCU ground
  • SCL – I2C SCL connects to MCU I2C SCL
  • SDA – I2C SDA connects to MCU I2C SDA
  • VCC – Power and reference voltage for DAC (2.5 to 5.5V)
  • GND – Ground connects to MCU ground
