Description
The square-shaped force-sensitive resistor (FSR) modifies its resistance based on applied force, enabling precise force measurement across its surface—an asset for touchscreens, medical devices, robotics, interactive surfaces, and biomechanics.
This particular FSR, measuring 1.75 x 1.5 inches, adjusts its resistance according to applied pressure: more pressure results in lower resistance. Its baseline resistance exceeds 1M when no pressure is applied. Capable of accurately detecting forces between 100g to 10kg, it’s designed with two 0.1″ pitch pins for easy breadboard integration and a peel-and-stick rubber backing for convenient mounting.
To measure applied force, connect a resistor to create a voltage divider and monitor the junction’s voltage. While excellent for pressure sensing applications, it’s not recommended for precise weighing or scaling due to its sensitivity. Operating temperature ranges from 30 to +70 ºC.
