Description

A circular force sensor, often called a force-sensitive resistor (FSR), adjusts its electrical resistance in response to applied force or pressure due to its circular design. Resistance decreases with higher force, reaching over 1M when no pressure is applied and dropping to 2.5k under full pressure. While it may lack high precision, it’s well-suited for pressure or squeezing detection rather than precise scaling. It features an actuation force of 0.1 Newtons, force sensitivity ranging from 0.1 to 10.02 Newtons, non-actuated resistance of 10MΩ, a device rise time of less than 3 microseconds, an operating temperature range of -30 to 60°C, clock speed of 16 MHz, and 32 KB of flash memory.

It’s designed to be easily integrated, featuring a 0.5″ round sensing area and two pins at a 0.1-inch pitch. Accurately sensing forces ranging from 100g to 10kg, it’s ideal for pressure and squeezing detection rather than precise scaling. Its versatility is enhanced by easy interfacing with Microcontrollers, Arduino Boards, Raspberry Pi, etc., through an analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
