MAX485 RS-485 Transceiver with Surge Protection

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The MAX485 is a transceiver for RS-485 and RS422. So in this, each of these parts contains one driver and one receiver. The driver slew rates are not limited which allows them to transmit up to 2.5Mbps.

These transceivers draw between 120µA and 500µA.  So it supplies current when unloaded or fully loaded with disabled drivers.  The receiver input has a fail-safe feature. It guarantees a logic-high output if the input is an open circuit. MAX485 is mainly designed for half-duplex applications.
