Description
The AD620 Instrumentation Amplifier Module is a precision electronic component designed to amplify small differential voltages with minimal noise accurately. It incorporates the Analog Devices AD620 instrumentation amplifier IC known for its high precision and excellent common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR).
The module is suitable for amplifying small AC or DC signals and can accept single-ended or differential input signals. The output of the AD620 is passed through one of the two LM358 op amps configured as a unity gain buffer, providing a source/sink capability of about 30mA/20mA. The output of the buffer is available on the VOUT pin.
The other half of the LM358 functions as a unity gain buffer to feed the Vref input of the AD620. The input of this buffer has a 10K potentiometer and a series 1K resistor, allowing adjustment of the voltage input to the LM358 and the Vref pin on the AD620. This feature enables adjusting the offset to remove or introduce positive/negative offset as needed.
the S+ and S- pins are shorted together, and the 10K zero offset potentiometer is adjusted until the voltage at VOUT measures 0V or the desired offset value. With a wide input voltage range, selectable gain options, and low input bias current, this module offers versatile applications in precision measurements, data acquisition systems, strain gauge amplification, biomedical devices, industrial automation, and more. Its robust build quality and user-friendly design ensure reliable and durable performance in various electronic circuits.
