It consists of an ultrasonic transmitter, receiver, and control circuit.

The module automatically emits eight pulses of 40 kHz square wave signals. It then checks for a returned signal and generates a high-level signal output through the ECHO IO port if a signal is detected. The duration of the high-level signal corresponds to the time taken for the ultrasonic signal to travel from the transmitter to the receiver, providing information about the distance between the module and the target object.
