Description
The Microphone Sound Detector Module is a highly sensitive tool equipped with an ultra-sensitive microphone for precise sound signal detection. Operating at 5 volts with a frequency range of 50 Hz to 13 kHz, it offers reliable performance for various applications.
It features advanced sound detection circuitry, allowing it to distinguish between different sound frequencies and intensities. It provides an analog voltage representation of sound and a digital logic level based on an adjustable threshold set with a potentiometer. The LED illuminates upon reaching the digital sound threshold, offering clear visual feedback for sound detection. AC coupling with a capacitor to remove DC bias from the analog output signal. Utilizes a reliable LM393 voltage comparator IC for accurate sound amplitude comparison.
An analog voltage representation of the picked-up sound and a digital output that goes HIGH when the sound exceeds a threshold set by the potentiometer. Without input, the analog output is approximately 2.5VDC (1/2Vcc) and is adjustable via the potentiometer. Any sound picked up by the microphone is imposed as an alternating current signal that rides on this DC bias level.
To remove the DC bias, the signal can be AC-coupled using a capacitor. Turning the potentiometer clockwise increases sensitivity, and an LED near it turns on when the output goes HIGH. For optimal sensitivity, adjust the potentiometer clockwise until the LED turns on and then slightly counterclockwise until it turns off. The potentiometer can be further adjusted counterclockwise to decrease sensitivity and raise the sound level at which the output goes HIGH.
