Description
The MAX7219 8 Digit Display Tube Module Control Module is an integrated display driver with a convenient four-wire serial interface that can be used with various microcontrollers and microprocessors. It enables easy addressing of each on-chip data for updating without rewriting all the displays and provides the option to select data encoding or no coding for each segment.
The MAX7219 is an integrated display driver that connects a microprocessor to an 8-digit 7-segment LED display, offering the option to connect a bar graph display or up to 64 separate LEDs. It features a convenient four-wire serial interface compatible with common microprocessors, allowing for individual addressability and easy updating of data without rewriting all the displays. It provides flexible display options with low-power shutdown mode, brightness control, scan-limit register, and all LED light detection modes. The module requires only three IO ports to drive eight digital tubes and is compatible with 5V/3.3V microcontrollers. Its PCB design includes copper studs for safety and it offers a 10MHz serial interface, individual LED segment control, and decode/no-decode digit selection.
Wiring instructions for the module are as follows: VCC to 5V, GND to GND, DIN to P00, CLK to P02, and CS to P01. These connections enable seamless integration with the microcontroller or microprocessor.
